The role of a SystemsIntegrations Engineering Manager, Commercial Systems atCanonical

TheCommercial Systems unit has several areas of responsibility spreadacross six engineering teams, closely collaborating with otherengineering and business teams at Canonical. Services designed,developed, and operated by the Commercial Systems unit are at theheart of Canonical business and Salesforce plays an integral rolein it.
The Integrations team aspires tointegrate all business systems used at Canonical to ensure datareliably flows at the right time to the right place, and toautomate business processes across the company. The systems includepopular SaaS solutions such as Salesforce, NetSuite, Greenhouse,GSuite, and a few dozen others. To achieve this goal, we leveragePython and Go in combination with open source tools such as Airbyteand Temporal. Our work helps to make data-driven decisions, andincreases the efficiency of businessoperations.
We are looking for an engineeringmanager with prior software engineering experience, who strives forthe highest engineering quality, seeks improvements, continuouslydevelops their skills, and applies them at work. Location:This role will be based remotely in the EMEAregion.
What Your Day Will LookLike
- Lead,mentor, and hire a team of softwareengineers
- Design and deliver engineeringsolutions leveraging Go, Python, and open source tools such asAirbyte and Temporal
- Seek improvements toestablished processes, designs, and engineeringsolutions
- Partner with business customers tounderstand their data and integrations needs
What We Are LookingFor In You
- Experience as a software developer inPython
- Excellent understanding of integrationpatterns
- Experience as a hands-on engineeringmanager or a team lead
- Excellent verbal andwritten communication skills in English
- Abilityto collaborate remotely with a diverse set of team members andstakeholders, remain highly motivated, productive, and organized ina fully remote environment
- Ability to travel tointernational destinations for one week at a time, approximately2-4 times per year. Locations prior to the global pandemic includedNew York, Seattle, London, Cape Town, Budapest, Berlin, Montreal,and Brussels
