Primary Job Responsibilities/Accountabilities
- Planning, leading, managing and supervising execution of external audit engagements of listed financial services clients in retail and commercial banking sector within agreed budgets and deadlines
- Performing complex fieldwork on assigned clients, assisting with the setting of budgets and pricing, scheduling audits, selecting staff and assigning workloads, developing the audit strategy, reviewing audit evidence, all within the KPMG Audit Methodology, and using technology tools. Special focus will be on key areas of banking clients such as credit evaluation process, loan loss provisioning, investment valuation, Basel requirements etc
- Identifying and reporting on assurance-related engagements, as per agreed-upon procedures and examination of selected financial information
- Establishing client relationships, anticipating client needs, responding their queries, being alert to both commercial concerns and technical accuracy and referring upwards if necessary
- Complying with regulatory requirements by completing sign off and checklist procedures applicable to the local jurisdiction
- Reporting to audit partners/ directors on all salient points arising from audits
- Working with other managers to help ensure proper deployment of audit staff
- Identifying and highlighting staff with high professional level, solving staff problems, managing their performance, and finding means within their capacity to retain them in the firm
- Setting objectives (goal-setting) with the audit team, providing support and coaching for more junior staff, and giving them feedback on their performance
- Cross-selling KPMG's services to existing and new clients
The Individual
- Holder of a professional qualification– CA, ACCA, ACA, CPA
- Technical and practical knowledge of IFRS and ISA Knowledge of IFRS
- Experience of working on banking clients with good understanding of IFRS 9 requirements and regulatory requirements such as Basel rules
Experience Expected
- 6 years of post qualification experience with a Big 4 Audit firm predominantly working on financial services clients
