About the job Asian Head Chef - M Bahrain
A premium Asian restaurant in Bahrain is looking for an experienced, well-seasoned Asian Head Chef. The restaurant exhibits a diverse menu of Thai, Japanese and Vietnamese courses in a traditional Asian setting. The Head Chef will be primarily responsible for creating innovative cuisine and providing a satisfying culinary experience for guests. The Head Chef will have the flexibility to set up the team to assist them to operate optimally. Experience working in fine dining or award-winning restaurants is crucial for this role.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Overseeing daily operations of the staff and kitchen
- The ongoing creation of innovative new menu items
- Motivating, training, and educating all kitchen staff
- Considering the needs of the guests in all decisions
- Ordering and purchasing ingredients and maintaining necessary inventory
- Abide by all safety regulations to ensure employee safety and restaurant cleanliness
- Ensuring guest satisfaction and seeking feedback on menu items
- Maintaining the quality continually of the culinary product
- Administrative duties related to the staff and other management matters.
- Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
- Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
- Approve and polish dishes before they reach the customer
- Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
- Arrange for repairs when necessary
- Remedy any problems or defects
- Be fully in charge of hiring, managing, and training kitchen staff
- Oversee the work of subordinates
- Estimate staffs workload and compensation
- Maintain records of payroll and attendance
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
- Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:
- Minimum of 5-7 years experience working in Asian establishments or awarded restaurants
- Proven culinary creativity and innovation in Asian cuisine
- Strong decision-making, organization & leadership skills
- Proven background in staff management and ability to recruit, train and motivate staff to
- Ensure a satisfactory experience for all guests
- Ability to consider the business aspects and cost control when creating new dishes
- Precision and cleanliness
- Willing to work long and irregular hours, including weekends and public holidays
INHERENT REQUIREMENTS:
- Matric Certificate
- A qualification in Catering / culinary arts required
- Full Covid-19 Vaccination is mandatory
